Former Teenage Football Player Responsible for Youth Concussion Law
This 6-minute video tells the story of Zack Lystedt, who was known for his skill on the football field. At age 13, he made a tackle that resulted in his getting a concussion, but, as was common, he returned to the game. After the game, Zack collapsed and went into a coma. His TBI nearly killed him. With hard work and therapy, Zack was eventually able to graduate high school. NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, took notice of Zack’s story and his effort to get a law passed in Washington State that would protect young athletes. With Goodell’s support, over 30 states have now passed a pediatric concussion law. (Video and story)
