If you are on Facebook, you can simply send a Private Message to me. It need only be a sentence or two. I’ll gather the accomplishments and post them with your name on my blog approximately once a week. (If you do not want your lastname to be posted, please tell me in your email or Private Message.)

I hope we have millions of Itty-Bitty Giant Steps.

Here is this week’s Itty-Bitty GIANT Step

me

Jennifer Stokley (survivor) … I recently met a stranger at my door who was sent to do bug home care. There was no notice, but I let him in to do his work. I asked questions – I had him explain things I needed to know. I have severe anxiety disorder and huge panic attacks. Strangers are a HUGE trigger; letting them into my home is even bigger. I handled it all – no anxiety, no nothing!

YOU did it!

Congratulations to contributors!

  1. To always be safe, never let anyone into your home, apartment, or where ever you live, unless you are notified by the landlord or you yourself requested the person to come. Ask for a card and say you’ll be in touch. Call your landlord or the company. There is no excuse for a person to show up like that without your knowledge. Even ask the landlord to send a rep or he/she be there themselves in addition while they spray if they are authorized.

  2. I completely second that, there is no excuse for someone to show up without your knowledge, especially to look around your house!!! Make sure that you keep your doors locked, even when you are inside. You will need to take extra steps to ensure your safety after brain injury… Did you say that you did not call, ask him why he came and did you get his ‘company’ card? STAY SAFE!!
